The Protest Interview On The Blast Wed Thru Fri Sept 1-3, 2021

The Protest just released its new 6-song EP called Death Stare via Rockfest Records, featuring the #1 smash hit Greater and the new follow-up single which we also Blast (of course): Show Up To The Showdown.

While some radio stations have just suddenly discovered this is a good band, they are no strangers to TheBlast.FM, as we have played The Protest since 2012, when they were called Protest For Pluto!

If you think that name is comical, wait until you hear what this band was called in middle school!

Colin Cruz interviews the band in 5 segments, spread across three episodes of the Colin Cruz Radio Show: Wednesday at 12 Noon; Thursday at 1 PM; and Friday at 12 Noon.  All times, USA/Canada Central Time.

The Protest Performing Their #1 Smash Hit Greater at KCF 2021

Indiana home boys The Protest did not disappoint at Kingdom Come Fest 2021.   And of course, the audience loved every minute of it.  Here is a video of them performing what may well be the #1 Christian rock radio song of the year 2021, Greater:  https://rumble.com/vjdhkt-the-protest-performs-their-smash-1-hit-greater-at-kcf-2021.html

Disciple To Perform Entire Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Album In Concert

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades was a big album for TheBlast.FM when it came out  in 2010 and for a couple years after that.  We played Battle Lines, Comedy Tragedy, and Disasterpiece, and we still play all three songs.

So this is very exciting news for us, plagiarized from Disciple’s Facebook page:

Ten years of Horseshoes & Handgrenades. Two Disciple lineups. One once-in-a-lifetime livestream event.
HORSESHOES & HANDGRENADES: ANNIVERSARY X will stream on November 21, featuring the ENTIRE Horseshoes & Handgrenades album played front to back with some help from “Disciple 2.0:” Micah Sannan, Andrew Welch, Israel Beachy, and Trent Reiff! We’ll also be playing Love Letter Kill Shot deluxe tracks “Enemy” and “Darkness Dies” for the first time. Get your ticket now: itickets.com/events/449963
Horseshoes & Handgrenades left a lasting impact on us as a band, and we have so many ways we want to celebrate all of the support you’ve shown this album over the past decade. All seven of the Horseshoes & Handgrenades b-sides will be sent to ticket holders VIP and above, there’s a special event shirt designed by our friend Jarob at

Quiet Strength Design (Blast note:  that’s Jarob from The Protest!)
We’re doing a VIP Q&A hangout with all of the current members as well as the 2.0 guys, we’re offering a very limited run of reprint H&H merch for the Anniversary X ticket package, and there might even be a way that you can be a crucial part of the evening (stay tuned for details).
Like with our other livestream concerts this year, all ticket holders will get access to a full audio and video download of the show afterwards, so you can get a ticket even if you won’t be free to watch live! There are more details on the ticket page.

The Protest Battles Through Bus Breakdowns; Rocks The Stage at Kingdom Come Festival 2020

The Protest at Kingdom Come Fest 2020

Indiana’s own The Protest has a BIG following in the Hoosier state.   They are from New Castle, Indiana, about an hour and a half away from the venue near Greentown, a village near Kokomo.  Lead singer Joshua Bramlett says the band is “not a big deal in their hometown of New Castle.”

That lines up with Luke 4:24, where Jesus says “Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown.”  But in their nearby adopted hometown of Kokomo and in Greentown, and at the Kingdom Come Festival, they are huge.

Here’s how we know that:  the crowd for the mid-evening The Protest concert on Saturday was larger than the crowd for the headliner Disciple.  And that is certainly not a knock on Disciple…it’s a testament to how popular The Protest is in their home state.

The band left New Castle at 9:30 in the morning and didn’t finish that 90 minute drive until early evening, as their bus broke down three times in between New Castle and Greentown.

We know who didn’t want them to come, but the devil did not win.   God got ’em to the fest, bus and all, and they put on a great rock show.   Highlights included Welcome To The Freakshow, a rockin’ cover of Michael Jackson’s 1982 pop radio hit Beat It, and Noise Revolution, which is chronicled here:
