Nail Records. \u00a0 But as long as Kevin Young\u2019s band has been around, there is no need to question his modus operandi.\u00a0 It works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0You\u2019ve heard the shrill screams and monstrous guitars of the lead track <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Executioner<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on both The Blast and The Implosion (oh YEAH, it\u2019s that heavy) over the last 15 weeks.\u00a0 So what does the rest of the album sound like?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If this album was a radio station, going from track 1 to track 2 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promise To Live<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it would be a train wreck, as this is a beautiful pop-rock song with a pretty soft melodic intro.\u00a0 But when the magnificence of this song is realized, that is quickly forgotten.\u00a0 This song appears to go out to all who struggle with life\u2019s regrets\u2026and thoughts of suicide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regrets, cutting, drugs, thoughts of suicide.\u00a0 The struggle is real.\u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Promise To Live<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is so heartfelt. \u00a0 \u201cThis is where redemption lives.\u00a0 All your death will be resurrected again.\u00a0 This is not your downfall.\u00a0 It is not your curtain call.\u00a0 It\u2019s only the start\u201d.\u00a0 As I listened to this song for the first time, I felt God reassuring me and us that He is so in love with who we are. \u00a0 This song brings tears to my eyes.\u00a0 \u201cI vow to hold you till you break through, just swear you\u2019ll stay alive\u201d.\u00a0 If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, I encourage you to listen to this song and hold tight to the mighty arms of Jesus!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the album is called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Skeleton Psalms <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and track 3 is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Skeleton Psalm<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026it <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the closest thing there is to a title track on this collection of tunes. This hard driving grinder finds Kevin Young pressing into Jesus, wanting more\u2026 \u201cI need a new love, a liberation, I need a real self-revelation, I need to know what I am living for\u2026show me the world you want me reaching for.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bad Words<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> starts out with some all-out screaming from Mister Young mixed in with fierce guitar work from Andrew Stanton and Josiah Prince and relentless drumming from Joey West, and it stays on a brutal METAL track throughout!\u00a0 Kevin won\u2019t apologize for his faith in this upside-down Bizarro World we live in, where right is wrong and wrong is right.\u00a0 Wow, this song is jaw-droppingly amazing both musically and lyrically:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ve got these bad words foaming at my mouth.\u00a0 Kicking my teeth out.\u00a0 My philosophy is your profanity.\u00a0 You can ban these bad words foaming at my mouth but you can\u2019t censor the sound.\u00a0 Your obscenity is my identity. He who Christ sets free is free indeed.\u00a0 I won\u2019t apologize.\u00a0 Nothing\u2019s gonna silence my beliefs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resurrecting Reasons<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> answers the question\u2026will the Disciple power ballads continue now that Disciple\u2019s altar ego worship band Honor &amp; Glory is in existence?\u00a0 And the answer is yes!\u00a0 That makes sense, as the Honor &amp; Glory songs are vertical and this tune is horizontal.\u00a0 We get some southern rock vocal stylings from Young in this ditty.\u00a0 And we get to hear the word Jesus a lot on this album.\u00a0 I think that is 3 songs so far, and I love it.\u00a0 And with this band, it\u2019s not for the JPM\u2019s\u2026they mean it, and they feel it\u2026and you\u2019ll feel the resurrection power of Jesus in this song.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dawning Of Deliverance <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">starts out really heavy.\u00a0 Is this going to be a melody of old Deliverance songs?\u00a0 No, of course not.\u00a0 Ah, but the guitar solo will get 80\u2019s metal fans excited. \u201cYou pull me under the water so I can breathe again. This is the dawning of deliverance\u201d.\u00a0 This heavy banger reminds us how we come to new life in Jesus Christ and that we need to fix our eyes on Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20:20 Blind <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wasn\u2019t that the name of an obscure Christian Rock band?\u00a0 This track has a theme of casting off the sadness and the misery and the naysayers and only listening to what God\u2019s report is for your situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDon\u2019t wanna hear another lie of a sad song.\u00a0 Tonight I feel what I haven\u2019t felt in so long.\u00a0 Just let me ride to the rhythm of your love song and get swept away.\u00a0 All I see is you.\u00a0 When I\u2019m 20\/20 Blind.\u201d\u00a0 Have some things in your past you need to let go of?\u00a0 Listen to this\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYou\u2019re shining down all over me\u2026your glory lighting up my face\u2026my past is burning in your grace.\u201d\u00a0 Ooh, I love that.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scapegoat<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has an awesome intro\u2026the beginning of this sounds like an 80\u2019s space video game meets the sound of listening for aliens meets industrial music.\u00a0 Well, kind of.\u00a0 What do you hear?
